This one uses a tandem OLED panel, two OLED layers stacked to produce its brightness, and the whole tablet is just 5.3 mm thick. Both facts shape the job.

The OLED display is the most expensive single part in the tablet, and it is bonded in with adhesive like every iPad screen. With so little thickness behind it, the panel has to be warmed and lifted without flexing it, because an OLED panel can be damaged by bending as well as by impact. That is why we look before quoting: a crack confined to one corner of the glass and an OLED that shows green lines, dead areas or no picture are different conversations about cost.

## Is it the glass or the OLED on your 11-inch M4?

The glass and the OLED are bonded into one display assembly, so either way the full display is replaced. What the symptoms tell you is how serious the damage is and how soon to act. A crack with a perfect image underneath is cosmetic for now, though it can let moisture and dust in at the edge.
