Phone Battery Replacement in Tucson

Cell Phone Repair at Gamers Warehouse in Tucson

Yes, we replace phone batteries for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel. A phone battery is a consumable part. Lithium cells lose capacity with every charge cycle and, above all, with heat — and a phone left on a car dashboard through a Tucson summer ages its battery faster than almost anything else you can do to it. The signs it is time: the phone dies well before the end of the day, shuts down suddenly while still showing 20–40% charge, or gets hot doing ordinary things.

A new battery is one of the most affordable repairs we do. For iPhones, our published battery prices run from $49 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to $149.99 on the iPhone 11 Pro Max; for Samsung phones, from $25 on the Samsung S3 to $149 on the Samsung S21 Ultra; and for Google Pixel and Nexus phones, from $89.99 on the Pixel and Pixel XL to $149.99 on the Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL. Most batteries are a same-day job because we stock the common cells.

How to check battery health on an iPhone, Galaxy or Pixel

On an iPhone you can check wear yourself in Settings → Battery → Battery Health: Apple treats 80% of original capacity as the point where a battery is considered worn. iPhone 15 models and later also show the cycle count there.

On a Samsung Galaxy, open the Samsung Members app, tap Support, run Phone diagnostics and check Battery status, which reads Normal, Weak or Bad. On a Pixel 8a or later, Settings → Battery → Battery health shows whether the battery is Normal or Reduced, and Settings → About phone → Battery information shows the cycle count. Google rates the Pixel 8a's battery to keep up to 80% of its capacity for about 1,000 cycles.

Swollen battery: the one battery problem that can't wait

If the back or the screen has started to lift away from the frame, stop using the phone and don't charge it. That is a swollen battery pressing outward, and it is a safety issue rather than a convenience one. Bring it in. Don't press the screen back down or tape it shut; the pressure is coming from inside.

Battery, charging port or software? How to tell

A worn battery drains fast, shuts down early or shows a percentage that jumps. A charging fault looks different: the phone won't charge at all, charges only at an angle, or charges on a wireless pad but not through the cable. Software can mimic a bad battery too. If the drain started right after an update or a new app, check the battery usage screen in Settings before booking a repair; one app running constantly in the background is a free fix.

If you can't tell, bring the phone and the cable you use. We test the battery and the port and tell you which one is the problem before quoting.

What changes by brand during a battery replacement

Every phone in this list is sealed, so a battery replacement means opening it and resealing it afterward. On most Samsung Galaxy phones the battery comes out through the back panel, which is softened with heat and lifted off. On recent Pixels and most iPhones it comes out through the front, after the display is lifted, so the screen has to be handled with care during a battery job. Apple tracks the battery under Parts and Service History in Settings → General → About, and a battery iOS can't verify shows as an Unknown Part, along with a note that the health reading may not be accurate.

Making a new battery last longer

Heat and long stretches at 100% are what wear a battery fastest. On an iPhone 15 or later, the Charge Limit setting under Settings → Battery lets you stop charging below full. Pixels have Adaptive Charging, which slows overnight charging so the phone reaches full shortly before you usually unplug it, and Samsung phones have battery-protection options in their battery settings too. Beyond that, keep the phone out of parked cars and direct sun, and take it out of a thick case if it gets hot while charging.

New battery or new phone?

If the rest of the phone works and it still gets security updates, a battery is the cheapest way to get more years out of it. If the battery is one of several faults on an older model, compare the total with trading the phone in. We'll give you the numbers either way. Back the phone up and bring your passcode or PIN when you come in.
