Phone Water Damage Repair in Tucson

Yes, we work on water-damaged iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones and Pixels. If your phone has been in water, the first few minutes matter most. Power it off and leave it off, and don't plug it in to see whether it still charges — putting current through a wet board is how a recoverable phone becomes a dead one. Take the case off, remove the SIM tray if your phone has one, dry the outside with a towel, and bring the phone in as soon as you can. Our store inside Tucson Mall takes walk-ins, and a wet phone is worth the trip the same day.
Rice won't save it. Apple specifically advises against putting an iPhone in a bag of rice, since small particles can get inside. The damage from liquid is rarely the water itself; it is the corrosion and short circuits that follow, and both keep working while the phone sits in a bag.
Water resistant is not waterproof
Most current phones carry an IP67 or IP68 rating, but those ratings come from lab tests in still, fresh water. They don't cover pool chemicals, salt water, soapy water, hot tubs or the pressure of a jet of water, and the protection is not permanent. Apple says water resistance can decrease as a result of normal wear, and a drop that cracks the screen or back opens the seal completely. Liquid damage is not covered by our warranty or by manufacturer warranties.
What a real water damage service involves
A real water damage service means opening the phone, removing the board, cleaning the corrosion off under magnification, replacing corroded components where needed, and only then reassembling and testing it. Corrosion often hides under shields and chips where no amount of air drying reaches, which is why a phone can seem fine for a week and then fail.
For iPhones we publish a water damage assessment: $49 on every model we price. The repair itself is quoted once we know what the liquid reached. Some phones recover fully, some need a part such as a screen, port or battery, and some have damage that isn't worth repairing; we tell you which before you pay for the repair.
Signs of liquid damage, even when the phone still works
Fogging under the screen or inside a camera lens, muffled speakers, a microphone callers can't hear, a moisture or liquid-detected warning when you plug in, a phone that gets warm while idle, and battery life that suddenly drops are all common after a soaking. Any one of them is worth bringing in early, because corrosion keeps spreading while the phone is in use. Fogging that clears on its own doesn't mean the moisture has gone; it has often just moved deeper inside.
Pool, monsoon or drink: does the liquid matter?
Monsoon downpours and swimming pools bring more wet phones to our counter than anything else, and chlorinated pool water is harder on a phone than fresh water. Sugary drinks and coffee leave sticky residue that keeps conducting after it dries. Salt water is the worst of all and needs attention the same day. Tell us what the phone went into and when; it changes what we look for.
Your data comes first
When a phone has been in liquid, the photos and messages on it often matter more than the hardware. If your phone still turns on after drying the outside, the one thing worth doing before you power it down is backing it up, if that can be done quickly without plugging it in. If it doesn't turn on, don't keep trying. Bring it in with your passcode or PIN, and tell us if getting the data off matters more to you than saving the phone, because that changes how we approach the job.
Repair or replace a water-damaged phone?
On a newer phone where the corrosion is limited, repair is usually worthwhile. On an older phone with damage across the board, replacement often makes more sense, and we will say so plainly rather than sell you a repair that is unlikely to last.
Even after a successful repair, a phone that has been through liquid can develop new faults later as hidden corrosion surfaces. Keep it backed up regularly from then on, so a late failure costs you a phone rather than your photos.
