MacBook Repair in Tucson

Yes, we repair MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, from batteries and screens to board-level faults. MacBooks are built more tightly than most laptops, and that shapes every repair. On current models the memory and storage are part of the logic board rather than separate modules, the battery is held in with adhesive, and the display is a single assembly. Some faults that would be a simple part swap on another laptop are board-level work on a Mac.
We do micro-soldering and board-level work in the store, so a board fault is assessed for a component-level repair instead of being written off straight away. The common jobs are batteries, screens, keyboards, charging problems and liquid damage. We tell you what's wrong and what it costs before you commit, and board-level repairs are not same-day jobs.
Which MacBook do you have? Finding the exact model
Parts differ between MacBook years and sizes even when the machines look alike, so the exact model matters before anything is ordered. Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac to see the model name and year, such as MacBook Air (M2, 2022) or MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019). If the Mac won't start, the model number printed in small text on the bottom case, beginning with A, identifies it just as well. Tell us whether it has an Intel processor or Apple silicon, since that changes which faults are common and how charging and startup problems are traced.
MacBook battery: Service Recommended and glued-in packs
You can see the battery's condition in System Settings under Battery. If it says Service Recommended, the pack has worn out. Other signs are a Mac that shuts down while showing charge left, or one that runs noticeably slower on battery than on the charger.
Because the battery is held in with adhesive, it has to be released carefully without bending or puncturing a cell, and the new pack is fitted with fresh adhesive. If the trackpad has started to feel stiff or the bottom case no longer sits flat, the battery is swelling. Stop charging the Mac and bring it in.
Liquid spills on a MacBook: act fast
Act fast with liquid: shut the MacBook down, unplug it, and don't turn it back on to check whether it still works, because corrosion keeps spreading across the board while it sits. Don't put it in rice, and don't use a hair dryer on it. Turn it upside down in a tent shape so liquid drains away from the board, and bring it in.
Sugary drinks and coffee do more harm than water, so tell us what was spilled. A Mac that seems fine after a spill can still fail weeks later as corrosion works on the board, so it is worth having it opened and cleaned even if it still starts.
When a USB-C MacBook won't charge
When a USB-C MacBook won't charge, the cause can be the port, the charging circuit on the logic board or simply the adapter, and we test each one before naming the culprit. Try another port on the Mac and another USB-C charger of adequate wattage first. If one port works and another doesn't, the fault is in that port or the circuit behind it.
A Mac that shows no sign of life at all, with no chime, no backlight and no response to the charger, isn't necessarily dead. It may be a board-level fault in the power circuitry that can be traced and repaired with micro-soldering.
Keyboards, trackpads and screens on MacBooks
Many MacBooks from roughly 2015 to 2019 used Apple's butterfly keyboard, which is known for keys that stick, repeat or stop registering. On those models, and on later Macs where the keyboard is riveted into the top case, a keyboard repair is a bigger job than on most laptops, and we explain what is involved for your model.
Screen damage on a MacBook almost always means a full display assembly, since the glass and panel are bonded together. A display that flickers or goes dark only at certain lid angles may instead be the display cable, so we check that before quoting a new screen.
Your data and Activation Lock: preparing a MacBook for repair
On recent models, storage is soldered to the board and encrypted to it, so a Mac with a dead board needs that board working again before anyone can reach the data. There is no drive to pull out. If your files matter, tell us when you drop it off at Tucson Mall, and make a Time Machine or iCloud backup first if the Mac still starts.
Leave your login password if you want us to test the Mac fully after the repair, and bring your charger, especially for a charging fault. If a particular repair needs Find My switched off, we tell you at the counter.
